COURSE OFFERINGS
These workshops are hosted at your educational setting.
They are taught in English, with the group size, topic and duration determined to be arranged to suit your and your students needs.
Doctor Mum for Kids prioritises designing workshops that are age-appropriate and the format preferred is interactive discussions, scenario-based learning, demonstrations and guided participation. Wherever possible we prioritise children getting the same hands-on practice with CPR mannequins that is a key benefit of our other courses.
Subjects and format can be adapted to meet whatever the schools learning objectives may be.
Please get in touch whether you see some ideas you like below or have some thoughts of your own.
Age appropriate teaching of how to recognise, assess an emergency and confidently perform CPR.
Understand common choking risks and practice age-appropriate responses to act calmly and effectively.
Practical sessions on common injuries and illnesses that the student body may come across in their daily lives some examples include asthma, allergic reactions, diabetes
Understanding of the body. Facilitation of age specific teaching on anatomy and physiology (how the body is put together and how it works!) As well as the all important subject of consent
Either as a separate subject or can be built in examples for assessing an emergency. Again, all education is tailored for the developmentally stage of the cohort being taught.
Do your students when to call and adult for help or when it is appropriate for them to call emergency services (as well as what to say to get the right help quickly and clearly?)
Doctor Mum for Kids in collaboration with Bjørn's International School designed and hosted a 2 day educational workshop for students aged from 6 up to 16 years of age.
In total, 177 students undertook sessions on recognising emergencies, calling for help, the recovery position and CPR skills. Activities ranged from the youngest students learning about their hearts , how to get help in an emergency and having fun with some stethoscopes to the oldest students all getting hands-on CPR practice on the resuscitation dolls.

More questions? Don't worry, I got you.
As a general principle I try to keep group sizes small, so that the learning experience feels personal and everyone is able to make use of CPR equipment.
For educational institutions we have found that a maximum of 25-30 students per group can work. And this can be scaled up so many groups get workshops over the course of a number of days.
As an example at a previous school, 177 students were able to participate in practical hands-on CPR workshops over the period of 2 days.
I have given some suggestions of topics below but this is in no ways the limits of the subjects that can be covered.
First aid and CPR
Choking prevention
Risk reduction and assessment
Allergies, seizures, and convulsions
Everyday injuries
Common illnesses
Drug and alcohol safety
Online safety
